About leather

Important notes

Chemical products should never be used to clean leather. To avoid damage to leather it is recommended to :

* Protect the leather against scratches from cats, dogs, shoes, buckles, keys and other sharp objects. Do not expose the leather to direct sunlight or direct heat.

* Care and Maintenance of Leather
Leather needs very little care during normal use.

- Dust weekly with a soft untreated cloth

- Clean with a damp cloth once a month

- Clean with a gentle cleanser specially designed for its care

- Condition and protect at the same time with a Leather protective cream

For more specific help refer to the leather care specialists “Trade Secret” at www.tradesecret.ca

  • * For Spots and Spills

Wipe excess liquid up immediately with a clean absorbent cloth or sponge. If necessary, use clean warm water only, and let air dry naturally. If water is used, clean the entire area where the spot occurred, do not just spot clean but clean the entire seat cushion or entire arm. Do not dry wet areas with hair dryers, etc.

  • * For Stubborn Spots and Stains

It is recommended to use a mild non-detergent cleaner such as a bar of Ivory soap. Apply the soap to a clean wet sponge and apply to the area. Then go over with a cloth dipped in warm water. Let air dry.

- Hand, body or capillary oils, contain PH3 which creates an acidity equal to vinegar and can oxidize the leather. For more information refer to the product “Trade Secret” at www.tradesecret.ca

- Butter, Margarine, Oil or Grease Stains

Wipe excess butter, margarine, oil or grease off the leather with a clean dry cloth, then leave it alone as the spot should dissipate into the leather in a short period of time. Warning: Do not apply water or try to wash an oil, butter, margarine or grease spot. For more specific help refer to the leather care specialists “Trade Secret” at www.tradesecret.ca
